Wedding planning has me like:
So last weekend, I went wedding dress shopping. Eeeeeek!
I’m far from a girly-girl, so this necessary shopping trip was quite daunting for me. I booked an appointment (to shop!?) a week in advance and gave my possy the deets (just go with it…).
Since getting engaged (more like a year or two before), I’ve been searching wedding dress styles; what I like, what I don’t like, different colors, etc., so I had a pretty good idea of what I was looking for. Continue reading
You thought I was talking about ol’ St. Nick, weren’t you? You know, not everything is about him this time of year…
I’m talking about yours truly!
I’ve finally started planning my wedding and boy is that a feat. Honestly, at the beginning, I didn’t even know where to start. My first thought was cake because that’s just who I am. My second thought was invitations, but I realized pretty quickly that I needed a when, where, and who for those. Continue reading
I know, I know… it sounds like I’m setting you up for a rather pathetic joke.
A chicken and a sheep walked into a barn… Not quite.
When I was younger, still living at home with my parents, we had a strange couple that would walk around the neighborhood. When I first saw them, I figured it was just a coincidence. But then I saw them a second and then a third time and then it became the norm. Continue reading
Fella asked me to be his forever and I said yes!
I’ve never been one of those girls who’s dreamt about their wedding since they were little. I always knew that I would eventually get married, and I have an idea about the style of dress I want (hats off to you Say Yes to the Dress), but when, where, and who to invite are still all unknown. Fall or Spring? DJ or band? Outside or inside? Chicken or Fish? I have not a clue. Continue reading
I follow a lot of blogs dedicated to dating in modern day with the help of technology based matchmaking platforms such as Tinder, OK Cupid, or any multitude of online dating sites. Bloggers are always writing about searching for their Baby/Boo/BAE in a sea of ghosting, cat fishing, and benching, trying to determine if they’re DTF, DDF, DTE, or if they have a GSOH IRL, then defending their said catch from thirsty THOTs while trying to establish if they’re FWB, NSA, or being slayed by DTR (translation below). When you are in a relationship with someone for some time, you are going to create lasting memories together, but what happens to those memories when the relationship is no more? They still exist, but how are we supposed to remember them: with feelings of fondness, indifference, spite…? Is there a rule? Continue reading
As a hopeless romantic, I like the idea behind Valentine’s Day; one day of the year when lovers express their affection for one another by showering each other with gifts and expressing their adoration with kind gestures. What’s not to like!? But, this holiday is one full of controversy. Many believe that this day was created by so-called ‘greeting card’ companies, dubbing it a Hallmark Holiday; claiming that this day is only recognized as a way to generate business, and I say to those people… Who the fuck cares!? Continue reading
Today marks 6 years since the worst day of my life. On this day in 2011, I was raped at knife point by a man who made my life a living hell for months prior. On this day every year, I can’t help but feel sorrowful. I tend to have panic attacks, I cry a lot, sometimes, I can’t even bring myself to leave the house, and I hate it all. I hate that he has had that kind of impact on my life. I hate that I constantly look over my shoulder when I’m alone. I hate that I don’t trust people as much as I used to. I hate Continue reading
I’ve never been the type of person to surround myself with a large group of friends. I have one or two friends and consider the rest acquaintances (some closer than others, but acquaintances nonetheless). Back in first grade, my friend was a horse enthusiast like myself, but the difference between her and me was that she had horses. Our play dates and sleepovers consisted of running out to the paddock, finding an unassuming horse, tie a lead to it’s halter and jump on. Continue reading
