In Record Time

I need to get something off my chest. I have a drafts folder that I have not peered into for over a year. I’m kind of ashamed, but as you all might have gathered from my previous post, I’ve been a little preoccupied. I typed up this post right after completing our project and only needed to add some pictures before hitting Publish, but that never happened and here we are. Hope you enjoy!

I’m a doer; I like to get things done. But I’m also a planner. I like to have a very detailed plan before I get started on a project, so from beginning to end, the timeline could drag out quite a bit depending on the task at hand–that’s just my style. For those that don’t know, one of my hobbies is flipping furniture and/or home improvement; anything I can do to add my touch to something, I’m all about it. And I think my passion has inspired Fella.

I’ll Show You…

So about a year ago I was forced out of my office at work; it was abrupt and I didn’t react very well. I wrote a letter to my boss explaining how this change would affect me and accepted my fate.

Flipping for Books and Booze

A little over a year ago, I shared the desk makeover I did for Fella and alluded to a matching bookcase. And then wedding planning took over my life and the shelf slowly turned into a storage area in the garage…

The weekend we returned from the honeymoon, I started and finished the bookcase makeover; that’s how determined I was to get it done.

Bridal Banter

We’re in the home stretch!

We have just under 6 weeks until the wedding, and I’m not sure I could be any more excited than I am now.

So what am I up to at this stage in the planning process?

I’m still working on some signage, particularly the bar menu and the sign to be displayed next to our wedding favors.

My DIY Wedding

Sorry for the radio silence on my blog lately. As you all know I’m getting married soon (66 days!) so what free time I have has been dedicated to wedding prep, which is what I wanted to fill you guys in on.

If you read my last post, then you know that I am planning my wedding to be as frugal as possible while still getting what I want, so I’ve spent lots of time and energy either making my own decor or scouring the web for the best deals. Here’s what I have so far:

If you haven’t looked up ‘pastel front door’ on Pintrest, you have no idea the kind of happiness you are missing in your life. They’re all so charming and welcoming. I personally can’t help but smile every time I see an out-of-the-ordinary colored front door.

When I was researching colors online, I came across many sites talking about how the color you pick for your door not only says something about the home inside, but also, a lot about your personality.

A Desk Fit for Fella

When asked what my hobbies are, I typically list (in no particular order): blogging, anything outdoorsy, and refurbishing furniture. Though recently, it’s been more like: binge watching Netflix, binge watching YouTube, and occasional video gaming- not as exciting.

Home, Sweet Home

When I was little, I had my fair share of Barbie dolls and Polly Pockets and I spent many play times coming up with elaborate story lines for them to act out, but there are so many fashion shows, date nights and house parties a 6 year old can envision. Once I grew tired of my dolls, I wound up playing with a laminated poster depicting empty rooms throughout a castle. There was a ballroom, a library, a kitchen, a dining room, bathrooms, bedrooms, the tower, and even a terrace overlooking a garden.
