Wedding Dresses, Snow, and NYC

So last weekend, I went wedding dress shopping. Eeeeeek!

I’m far from a girly-girl, so this necessary shopping trip was quite daunting for me. I booked an appointment (to shop!?) a week in advance and gave my possy the deets (just go with it…).

Since getting engaged (more like a year or two before),  I’ve been searching wedding dress styles; what I like, what I don’t like, different colors, etc., so I had a pretty good idea of what I was looking for. Continue reading

Makin’ A List, Checkin’ It Twice

You thought I was talking about ol’ St. Nick, weren’t you? You know, not everything is about him this time of year…

I’m talking about yours truly!

I’ve finally started planning my wedding and boy is that a feat. Honestly, at the beginning, I didn’t even know where to start. My first thought was cake because that’s just who I am. My second thought was invitations, but I realized pretty quickly that I needed a when, where, and who for those.  Continue reading

Nothing Says Welcome Home Like…

… an inviting front door.

If you haven’t looked up ‘pastel front door’ on Pintrest, you have no idea the kind of happiness you are missing in your life. They’re all so charming and welcoming. I personally can’t help but smile every time I see an out-of-the-ordinary colored front door.

When I was researching colors online, I came across many sites talking about how the color you pick for your door not only says something about the home inside, but also, a lot about your personality. Continue reading

The 4th

The 4th of July is my favorite holiday. I’m sure you don’t hear (read) that very often, but for me, it’s true. I love how it brings people together (and by people, obviously I mean us Americans). It’s the one day out of the year that we can put aside our differences- political, personal, et al- and enjoy the day for what it is; a celebration of freedom and of our country.

But that’s not even the best part. Continue reading

Just a Little Ramble

I don’t consider myself a writer. I don’t look at blogging as a profession or a hobby, though what else would it be if not either? I don’t get paid to post my works online, so it’s not a profession. So a hobby…? I didn’t think I had any to be honest. When I’m not at work, my time is spent with Fella either watching tv, playing video games, or taking the canines to the park; some pretty lame hobbies if you ask me. Continue reading

Meatloaf in Manchester

I’m a planner. I like to have a set itinerary. I like to have an idea of where and when I’m supposed to be somewhere, especially on a trip away from home. But you know what? I’m starting to get over that idiosyncrasy. Not that I don’t believe in the power of a well thought out plan. Its just… I hate when things don’t go accordingly. I tend to work myself up expecting a certain outcome, and when it doesn’t happen, even if I have no control over the situation, I become upset. Not in a distraught fashion; it’s more of a depressive state. As a result, my mentality has shifted. Why set myself up for the possibility of being let down? I have taken on more of a ‘go with the flow’ disposition. Continue reading

I’ve Only Just Begun

As I alluded to in Reaching Puddle Jumping Status, I’ve never considered myself a traveler. Not that I believed it was impossible… It was more a fear of the unknown; different cultures, different food, different languages, different normalcy to everyday life. I was happy in my own little corner of the world. Sure there were destinations sitting on the bottom of my bucket list waiting to be checked of, but Continue reading

Reaching Puddle Jumping Status

You guys! I’m finally doing it! I’m hopping on an airplane and headed to a far away land in less than a week! Me! Just a small town girl, 🎶 living in a lonely wooorrrld, took the midnight train…. ahem. Sorry. Got a little carried away. But seriously… I’m heading to England and France; places that I’ve only ever dreamt of visiting, and I’m so stinkin’ excited! Continue reading

Don’t Hate Me, But…

Hey, Hey! Another VBA! That was my poor attempt at rhyming and I promise, it will never happen again (at least not in this context).

My girl Kori over at Rambling Kori nominated me (almost 2 weeks ago!) for yet another Versatile Blogger Award. I feel like I’ve become that person at those award shows that keeps getting their name called over and over and every time they go up to accept the award, the applause dwindles more and more, and they start getting side looks from their peers as if to say, “We get the point already.” Continue reading
