Last Christmas 🎵 I gave you my heart 🎵… nope, not where I intended to go with this intro.

Last Christmas my husband gifted me an experience which I’m finding to be my love language. Some girls want sparkly things or shopping sprees. This girl wants adventure! And when it’s presented in a thoughtful way (like a poem!)–even better.

On Christmas morning after opening all my other gifts, my husband handed me my final present. It wasn’t much in terms of presentation as it was a giftwrapped pocket folder, but after ripping open the paper, the front of the folder read: Continue reading

ME Time

Well that was longer than I expected…

I’m referring to my hiatus–what were you thinking!?

It has been so long since I last posted that I didn’t even remember what my last update was. After doing a quick search, I had posted about my internal struggle with receiving my COVID vaccine before… well, before much of anyone else really (that’s what happens when you work for the health department during a pandemic; first dibs and all). So what have I been up to? What has been keeping me away from my blog for all this time? I’ll give you one guess… Continue reading

Pint-sized and Full of Rage

My parents came down for a visit a few weeks back and we spent an evening sitting on the screened porch by the fire pit sharing stories about our pasts. One of the questions that was posed was: What is your earliest memory? For me, my earliest memory is a mix of adventure, pain, frustration, and now, some comedic relief. Continue reading

Vacation- Full Stop

I finally had a break and it was glorious. I didn’t have to think about COVID. I didn’t have to deal with aggressive call center callers. I didn’t have to worry about stocking the health bus and running logistics for our test sites. We had a week of sleeping in, eating whatever we wanted, and getting maybe a little too much sun. Continue reading

Captain’s Log, Stardate Eleventy Tenteen

So I went on my cruise and came back to Armageddon. Cool, cool, cool.

I’m pretty sure I just heard gasps from all 4 of you that read my blog. Yes, in the midst of the growing pandemic, I went on a cruise; the cruise that I’ve been looking forward to for almost an entire year. To be fair, there were no restrictions on continuing with the cruise when we left, and because the cruise line was practically desperate for passengers, they even gave us $200 credit to use on board. They literally paid us to go on our cruise. Continue reading

The Best Kept Secret

Therapy is going well… thanks for asking. But I’m not here to elaborate on my mental issues any further; sorry for the heavy post last week…

I’ve actually been planning something spectacular for 10 months and felt the need to keep it private… for reasons. But not anymore. I’m going to share with you all how I’m the greatest daughter there has ever been how my family and I planned a vacation getaway for mom as her Christmas gift this year. Continue reading

Eating Through My Bucket List

I was itching for a new adventure to round out 2019 and decided Philadelphia was as good a city as any. But what exactly makes a city ripe for exploration you ask?

  1. Is it easy to get to and travel around without too much issue?
  2. Does it have a bucket list food item on it?

Not sure what a bucket list food item is? Something like pizza in New York, a crepe in Paris, a full breakfast in England, or BBQ in Atlanta. So it’s only fitting to cross a cheesesteak in Philly off the list.

Getting Lost: An Art Form

I’m mainly speaking in the geographical sense…

It happens to the best of us. No, really! I’m blessed with an uncanny sense of direction; I have a 6th sense when it comes to figuring out my way and I’m rarely ever wrong. It helps to know that moss grows on the north side of whatever moss grows on (not that that tidbit of info helps in all situations)… Even when Fella and I traveled to England, I was still able to get us around without using our perpetually uncharged GPS. It’s a gift really.

Party Over Here!

Fella and I have officially completed 1 year of marriage. I cannot wrap my head around the fact that a year ago today I was enjoying my honeymoon in Belize. Take me back!

After a wedding there are 2 go-to questions on everyone’s minds: a) When are you having kids, and b) Has anything changed since getting married? (Or if you’re my slightly obnoxious aunt: where is my gosh darn thank you letter!?) As far as kids, that’s a hard pass; at least for now. But has anything changed in our relationship since our nuptials? No, not really. He’s still my best friend. He’s still a great dog daddy. He still contributes to

Adventure Is Out There!

I’ve made a recent realization that I’m an adventurer. I’ve always enjoyed traveling and participating in fun outings, but because those things didn’t happen very often for me (or so I thought…), I never considered myself worthy of the description. But after the past couple of weeks, I think I’ve earned the title.
