My DIY Wedding

Sorry for the radio silence on my blog lately. As you all know I’m getting married soon (66 days!) so what free time I have has been dedicated to wedding prep, which is what I wanted to fill you guys in on.

If you read my last post, then you know that I am planning my wedding to be as frugal as possible while still getting what I want, so I’ve spent lots of time and energy either making my own decor or scouring the web for the best deals. Here’s what I have so far:

Guest Book

We’re having between 25-30 guests at our wedding, so to have a guest book would be kind of overkill. Plus it’s dated compared to the myriad of  other options available, which is why I’ve decided to do a Bucket List.

Guests will have access to post cards to fill out with date night ideas, vacation destinations, words of wisdom, etc. that they would like to give Fella and me. Once filled out, guests can drop the cards in our bucket that we will display in our house as a keepsake. We will then use these ideas as our bucket list throughout our marriage.

Signage

Along with my Bucket List sign, I’ve also hand painted a sign to put on our cupcake table (I Love You More Than Cupcakes) that will be hung in our kitchen afterwards, and a menu board with a list of the cupcake flavors; we’re having lemon blackberry, chocolate/caramel, and brown sugar/pecan/peach. Still in the works are a menu board for the bar listing drink options and a sign for our wedding favors.

Favors

Speaking of wedding favors:

Names have been removed to protect the guilty 😉

Aren’t they adorable!? They’re can koozies our guests can use during the wedding and take home as their favor. The sign I will be making will read “To Have (as a favor) & To Hold (your drink)!” Cheesy, right!?

Napkins

If you can’t tell already, I’m focusing on the details of the wedding as I feel that’s what will make it so personal. We will be using white cloth napkins for dinner, but I wanted something a bit more playful for the appetizer and dessert courses, so I found these on Etsy:

Fella picked out the design. He’s such a cheese ball!

Cake Topper

We’re having cupcakes instead of a large wedding cake, but we I still wanted a small cake for us to ceremoniously cut, so we I needed a cake topper. Unfortunately I don’t have a picture of it, but it’s a wooden stake that was laser cut in the form of our wedding hashtag. I used this Etsy shop to get exactly what I wanted and couldn’t have asked for a better topper!

I so terribly want to share a peak of my gown (just had my final fitting last weekend!), but Fella is an avid reader, so you guys will just have to wait. But I can share with you a teaser from our engagement shoot:

We got rained out after shooting for 20 minutes, so we’ll be having another shoot at the end of June to make up for it.

As you can see… BUSY! On the horizon, I’m going horseback riding/camping in the mountains of Tennessee this weekend, I have my Bachelorette weekend at the end of June which will just be me, my mom and aunt and 2 close friends spending a weekend relaxing by the pool at a local AirBnB, then our wedding (!!), and our honeymoon to Belize (!!!).

I am so stinkin’ excited ya’ll!

And in case you missed it, here’s a peak at our venue:
